In a speech Tuesday night with Fox News, Ohio Republican Senate candidate JD Vance explained what he sees as the biggest threat to the U.S. election.
“The greatest threat to American democracy today is big tech companies in cahoots with the communist Chinese to censor information about American politics,” Vance said. “I don’t want those companies interfering in our elections, and I think that’s what happened in 2020.”

Vance explained last week the influence of large tech companies on the US election and advocated for a break-up of large companies on his campaign website.
“I know the tech industry well. I’ve worked in it and invested in it, and I’m tired of politicians talking big about Big Tech but doing nothing about it. The tech industry promised us all better lives and faster communication; instead, it steals our private information, sells it to the Chinese, and then censors conservatives and others for daring to have controversial opinions,” Vance says on his campaign website. “The solution is simple: We need to break up big tech to reduce their influence on our economy and politics. We also need to prohibit the theft of our personal data. If they want our data, it’s time to make them pay for it.”
