We had a tragic series of mass shootings this summer. In Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas — two lunatics decided to commit senseless acts of violence. This was used as fodder for the anti-gun mob. The Democratic candidates in 2020 tried to blame Trump for the El Paso shooting because the shooter was a white supremacist who hated Mexicans, while burying the environmental roots of the shooter’s manifesto, which was more in keeping with the left. The shooter in El Paso also hated Republicans, but please — blame Trump. I couldn’t roll my eyes more when this narrative was thrown into the news cycle.
Yet gun violence happens every day in the blue states of America. Chicago is a prime example. Dozens of people are shot dead every week, and holiday weekends in the Windy City are particularly brutal. And yet, why is there no coverage? Well, it’s because the victims are usually minorities. This is what CNN’s Christian Sierra, the network’s media coordinator, told Cary Poarch, the whistleblower who is the basis for James O’Keefe’s investigation into CNN’s liberal bias.
In clips released by PV, Sierra he said“a white kid gets shot at Princeton University. He goes and visits his older brother who’s a student there, gets shot in the head. He gets killed. We’re going to report on that because, oh my God, we have to kill that precious little white kid.” When Poarch asked what would happen to the three kids shot in Newark, Sierra said nothing would happen, that no one would care, unless the shooting happened on Cory Booker’s block.
Sierra adds that unless 20 people are shot in American cities, the network will probably take a pass:
In the second Project Veritas video segment on racial bias and its impact on CNN’s coverage, media coordinator Christian Sierra states, “I find that shootings in poorer areas or, um, minority communities don’t get as much coverage as if they happened in a predominantly white area.”
[…]
… “I think if, unless we’re looking at mass, if it’s a mass shooting, like if 20 people are killed, they would cover that.” “But if it’s two people killed, like in a gang shooting, they wouldn’t really care.”
And on top of that, the cities are run by Democrats, which makes Democrats look bad, so CNN would probably ruin them. And yet, even with the augment in violence in cities like Chicago, which has improved its crime statistics this year, violent crime nationwide remains low, we are safer than ever, and schools are safer than they were during Columbine. We are not a shooting gallery, but the insane amount of coverage that CNN and other networks give out about mass shooters makes you think we are like Bakara Market in Mogadishu. We are not. But to hell with the facts if it means putting Trump, the GOP, and the NRA on their heels, or that is the logical thing to do.
