Two-Time Failed Presidential Candidate Chris Christie to Teach ‘How to Run a Political Campaign’ at Ivy League

Former New Jersey Republican governor and failed presidential candidate Chris Christie will teach a course at Yale University on how to run for office, according to a description.

Christie, who was Governor from 2010 to 2018, who did not run in the 2016 and 2024 presidential elections, will teach a class on “How to Run a Political Campaign” in the fall 2024 semester, According to to the catalog. The course offers students one credit, is taught once a week and is offered as an elective.

“Political campaigns in the 2020s are becoming increasingly technology-dependent, more confusing and difficult to communicate with, and even more fraught with personal pitfalls and challenges,” the course description reads. “When deciding whether to run for office, you have to grapple with all of these issues, in addition to basic considerations about issue positions, fundraising, and the most important question of all: If I win, what do I want to accomplish and what kind of leader do I want to be?”

Christie, who is a constant guest critic former President Donald Trump, he was running for president in 2016, but withdrew from the Republican primary in February of this year after finishing sixth in the New Hampshire primary.
