Ohio GOP hangs ‘Missing’ posters outside Democratic National Convention venue, highlighting notable absence of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown

The Ohio Republican Party is highlighting the absence of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) at this week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago by placing “Missing” signs outside the convention’s main venue in the Windy City.

The Ohio Republican Party has suspended posters with Brown’s face outside the United Center with the words:

MISSING: Radical liberal Sherrod Brown

Last seen: Retirement Benefits Cut[,] Hiding from Kamala Harris’ Radical Past[,] Opening of the southern border[,] Destruction of Ohio Manufacturing Jobs

WARNING: Sherrod has a tendency to act up. Despite voting with Kamala Harris 99% of the time, he thinks skipping the convention will make him a “moderate.”

“With all of his best friends in Chicago, we wanted to help them find Sherrod Brown! That’s why we sent a rescue team to put up posters to remind Democrats that Sherrod is still missing from their party’s biggest event,” the Ohio GOP said in a news release. “Sherrod still hasn’t made it to the United Center, and we’re sure Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Joe Biden are very upset that he won’t be there to celebrate their accomplishments.”

Brown, who was found has attended every Democratic National Convention since 1994, but is not attending this year’s convention. The senator saw it as an attempt to distance himself from the party’s 2024 presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, and vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Although Brown is one of more than 30 Democratic lawmakers who have called on President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race, the incumbent senator has since distanced himself from the Harris-Walz campaign — apparently in an effort to salvage his own reelection chances against Republican candidate Bernie Moreno, who is endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

Still, Brown, who has served in the Senate since 2007, has voted with Harris 84% of the time she has served in the U.S. Senate, according to results report By Fox News.

Brown and Harris were found to have jointly sponsored nearly 500 bills when they were colleagues in the Senate, including bills promoting anti-police and pro-illegal immigration policies.

The data also found that Brown voted with the Biden administration 99 percent of the time between 2021 and 2023. data collected and published by VoteView.
