Falling in the polls, RFK Jr. is reportedly eyeing a deal with Trump or Harris, but neither seems interested

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy has suffered a series of setbacks in recent weeks that appear to have prompted him to seek a way out. He has since reportedly sought to strike a deal with either the Trump or Harris campaigns to exchange endorsements for a role in the administration, although neither side has reportedly been open to such an offer.

While Kennedy is still the most influential independent candidate, his support has dropped by nearly half since President Joe Biden left the Democratic ticket in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris. In final RealClearPolitics average of polls with Biden as the nominee, Kennedy received 8.7% support. Former President Donald Trump led the field with 43.4%, and Biden had 39.2%. Jill Stein of the Green Party received 1.9%, while independent Cornel West took 1.6%.

But with Harris in the mix, Kennedy’s support has fallen to an average of 5.5%. Harris is currently leading five way race with 45.6% support, while Trump received 44.6%. Stein and West won 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively.

Kennedy has He voted in many key states such as Texas and Florida, as well as key states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Wisconsin, according to Newsweek. But he failed to secure a spot on the ballot in most states, including Democratic strongholds New York and California. Earlier this week, a New York state judge ruled that Kennedy he wouldn’t be on the Empire State candidate listwhich dealt a solemn blow to his campaign.

Far below the polling margin needed to win every state and seemingly without access to most state ballots, Kennedy’s prospects for the presidency appear dim. Reports of his attempts to secure a Cabinet position in both camps seem to suggest that he agrees with that prediction and is looking for a way to remain a driving force in the camp where he can have one.

Harris Campaign Sees ‘MAGA-Funded Marginal Candidate’

This Washington Post reported This week, Kennedy requested a meeting with Harris to discuss his role in the administration in exchange for his endorsement, but Harris’ campaign was not receptive to the offer.

Kennedy’s vice presidential candidate, Nicole Shanahan, vehemently denied that the campaign was negotiating with Harris, publishing on X This “[w]e We are NOT in talks with Harris. Personally speaking, they are a lost cause. Literally.”

“Nobody is going to negotiate with a MAGA-funded third-party candidate who sought a job from Donald Trump in exchange for his support,” Democratic National Committee spokesman Matt Corridoni said. Only news.

Kennedy has openly advocated for discussions between the leading candidates, suggesting that such a move would assist “unite the country.” He also called Harris’ decision not to meet with him a “strategic mistake” and warned of a “close race,” saying, “I think they should consider every opportunity.”

Kennedy Campaign Management Only news down X post from Kennedyin which he denied plans to endorse Harris and lamented that his uncle and father’s party had become “unrecognizable” under its current leadership.

“I have spent years fighting government corruption and lies. Vice President Harris has spent years telling the American people that our Commander in Chief is in poor health,” he said. “I have no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for president. I have a plan to defeat her.”

Trump’s campaign also had nothing to offer him.

Rumors that Kennedy had struck a similar deal with Trump intensified after the failed assassination attempt on the Republican on July 13. The pair we met after the incident and Trump later he called Kennedy receive Secret Service protection, which the Biden administration previously denied him.

However, shortly after the meeting, a recording of a conversation between the two was leaked, during which Trump raised the issue of possibly hiring Kennedy in his administration.

“I would like you to do something” Trump saidaccording to NPR. “I think it would be very good and very important for you. And we will win.” Robert F. Kennedy III, the presidential candidate’s son, released the video. Kennedy himself apologized for the incident, blaming himself for not telling the videographer to stop recording.

The meeting did not bring support from Kennedy, whose campaign assured that he had no intention of resigning from the campaign and would seek a meeting with the Democrats.

“Yes, Mr. Kennedy met with President Trump today to discuss national unity and hopes to meet with Democratic Party leaders as well. And no, he is not dropping out of the race. He is the only pro-environment, pro-abortion, anti-war candidate to beat Donald Trump in head-to-head polls,” campaign spokeswoman Stefanie Spear said at the time. Biden has not yet dropped out of the race.

The Trump campaign, for its part, appears to consider the matter settled, and in a statement compared his policy agenda to Harris’s. Only news.

“Like Kamala Harris, RFK Jr. is a radical leftist and environmental nut who loves electric vehicle mandates and wants to end the use of gasoline engines,” said Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung.
