Utahns, deeply conservative, value decency and honesty, so they naturally loathe both the uneducated, boorish Neanderthal and the corrupt, power-mad liar whom America’s two major parties have seen fit to nominate for president. (For the latest on Trump’s abominations, Click hereOr Click here to find up-to-date evidence of lies and corruption in the Clinton Foundation case.) Given the continuing animosity toward these two human beings among the Utah electorate, this survey This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise – but given the dynamics of contemporary American politics, it’s still shocking:
Miracles Never End: Poll Shows Utah in a TIRE; @Evan_McMullin within 4. https://t.co/TravrjVtzg photo:twitter.com/R9QETbqPwZ

Republican and Democratic Party Candidates to combine for only half of the voters Evan McMullin almost tied for first. If McMullin and Johnson’s support were combined, they would trail either Trump or Hillary by double digits, according to this poll. It’s just one poll, so some skepticism is warranted, but the result is plausible. Clinton has never had any real traction in a religious, conservative state where Donald Trump’s “pussy-grabbing” tape likely went down like a lead balloon. It’s no coincidence that Utah’s elected officials are particularly concentrated in Republicans who have rejected Trump—not to mention Mitt Romney. The amazing thing about McMullin’s competitiveness is that only about half Utahns know about his candidacy (he’s a Mormon, former U.S. intelligence officer, running on a traditionally conservative platform). If he can build name recognition in the state, it’s not impossible for him to win (still unlikely), especially if Trump-allergic Romney helps him. Meanwhile, the Salt Lake Tribune has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president:
This election features two of the most unpopular candidates in recent history. One has built a reputation for secrecy and dishonesty. The other has built a campaign on insults and bigoted statements, ultimately losing any right to be taken seriously with the recent release of a video in which he boasted about his ability to get away with sexually assaulting women. There is certainly no perfect choice, but at this point the only candidate who comes close to qualifying for the job is Hillary Clinton.…Utah Republicans were perceptive enough to reject Trump in the presidential vote in March. If they supported Clinton now, even by the narrowest of margins, it would send a powerful signal to the Republican Party to turn away from Trumpism and work with Clinton wherever it can, rather than dedicate itself to blocking her every move.
I’ve seen some oohs and aahs about this article on social media, but there’s less to it than meets the eye. This newspaper endorsed Barack Obama for president. Twice. This over Mitt Romneywho won every county in the state, taking nearly three-quarters of the popular vote there. So this isn’t exactly a newspaper that’s in touch with its readers. Mrs. Clinton’s competitiveness in Utah has nothing to do with her and everything to do with Donald Trump. Despite the close race there, I can’t bring myself to call Utah a swing state, because it isn’t. It’s a ruby-red state in a crazy year. But in the bona fide battleground state of Ohio, here’s number “oh my” for Republicans:

This is critical exception at this stage, although the Senate’s advantage in the survey (Portman +12) it’s not too far from other polls. Speaking of exceptions, I’ll leave you with the latest from the only major poll in the country that Trump fans have been raving about lately:

Maybe a few attacks on Republicans will turn things around, Donald. Sarcasm aside, this up-to-date Trump ad is pretty good:
