Six Democrats joined Republicans in the House of Representatives to pass a resolution “strongly condemning” Vice President Kamala Harris, now a top Democratic presidential candidate in 2024, for her role as border czar.
ResolutionIntroduced by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, formally condemns Harris and the Biden administration for failing to “secure the U.S. border.” The resolution notes that since January 2021, there have been an estimated 9.7 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide.
Democrats who voted with Republicans included Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas, who has been a regular critic of the administration’s handling of the border, as well as Reps. Yadira Caraveo of Colorado, Don Davis of North Carolina, Jared Golden of Maine, Mary Peltola of Alaska and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington state.
