The Fall of the Anti-Democratic Party

The Republican Party is dead.

Haven’t you heard? From the blogs on the right to the fear mongering of the mainstream media, the GOP has become so antique and out of touch with reality that one has to wonder if it will last.

Yes, I’m laughing.

This coming from a man who has supported virtually every presidential candidate except the presumptive one.

Perhaps Trump’s candidacy was exactly what the Republican Party needed. Yes, the Big Business tycoons who begged for amnesty and corporate bailouts had to be thrown out. Most of them, led by Jeb!, will not be attending the next RNC convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

So what?

But 40% of conservatives in this country had to wake up from their ideological slumber. The echo chamber of the off-year election became a circular firing squad when the most conservative presidential candidate failed to win the nomination.

It’s not enough to win the argument. You have to win the vote.

As for the Democratic Party, it is dying. It certainly does not live up to its namesake.

Hard-core liberals and pundits from both ends of the political spectrum look at the GOP and ask, “Manhattan Reality Show rodeo clown? Really?!”

Then I glance at the person carrying (or rather running) a Democratic Party banner and breathe a sigh of relief.

What do the Democrats have? A former first lady about to be impeached and a wizened (and unwise) socialist. Sanders talks so much about “rich, poor, poor” you’d think he’d have a sedate mental defect. An antique fart (the male one) is preaching the miracle of political and economic ideology in rapid decline throughout the first and even third world. In case you haven’t noticed, Venezuelans are eating stray animals and rioting over chronic food and resource shortages.

Not for me and not in America.

The Democratic primary has become more bitter and nasty. Hillary Clinton was hoping to hear the final words about “those damn emails” when Sanders shook her hand during the first debate. The 70-year-old Vermonter is clinging to Hillary’s lead. Without superdelegates, Clinton would be neck and neck with her former fellow senator.

And when it comes to superdelegates, nothing is as undemocratic as lining up hundreds of delegates behind one candidate in front of hoi polloi get to vote. Unreal. The Democratic Party has become the epitome of anti-democracy.

Why not just do away with primaries, party meetings, and the Democratic convention?

In California, Republicans are quietly coalescing for unprecedented victories in 2014 and are likely to see even greater success in the future. Democrats are bracing for an all-out brawl. In the past two months, Los Angeles has hosted three major Hillary and/or Bernie rallies. At one Hillary event, I got nothing but blank stares or insults from Hillary supporters—and none of them could tell me why they were voting for her.

Liberals are in disarray across the country, even in California, where Democrats’ run for state and federal offices will eat into their dwindling campaign funds.

Democrats still can’t hold on to local or statewide office (Louisiana doesn’t count because GOP infighting hasn’t stopped conservatives from taking every other seat in the state.) Republican governors in strong-leaning states like Illinois and Massachusetts are proving that working-class Democrats—of all colors—have had enough of the Donkey Party and are packing up with Pachyderms.

Of course, endemic corruption in the Democratic Party was evident from day one.

Six Hawkeye State primaries were decided by a (two-faced) coin flip, and Clinton somehow won every single one. Sanders then stomped Clinton in New Hampshire and Vermont (New England liberals want Bernie), and his snail-paced march continued from one primary to the next. While GOP activists have grown tired of the K Street Establishment’s self-enrichment drive and have pushed them back across the board, Democratic voters are not showing up or showing any overt contempt. Just a few weeks ago, 25% of West Virginia Democrats expressed their loathing of the Clintons and are willing to vote for Trump if Bernie Sanders doesn’t win the party nomination.

Democrats Don’t Want Their Party Anymore! In Torrance, California, Democrats Vote Republican from Top to Bottom!

And the latest commotion exposing the internal decay of the Democratic Party? The Nevada Democratic convention, where “Hooks for Hillary” proudly displayed their support for the former Secretary of State, and Clinton hoped to take control of the store with another 52% victory? Sanders’ surrogates crowded the convention floor, then booed the party leadership for their underhanded tricks to rob their man of key delegates. When U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (one of mine, unfortunately, what is she doing there anyway?) spoke at the podium, there were heckling and boos. Where did I hear about this? From the Connecticut GOP Twitter! Republicans are mastering the social media game, while Democrats are trying to repeat Obama-rama. They should call their next PAC “Organizing for Inaction.”

I loved every minute that Boxer was fenced in. Batty Babs could brag, “I’m from New York and I can stand up to bullies!” Of course, she didn’t see the irony as Democratic activists pushed past eligible attendees who wanted Bernie. To quell the chaos, the Nevada Democratic chairwoman ignored a series of floor motions and then illegally adjourned the meeting.

From Iowa to today, united partisans and concerned activists have come out, exasperated with the Democratic Party establishment. Current chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (who faces a resilient primary challenge herself) is facing party insiders calling for her ouster. Insiders say Schultz is deliberately putting Sanders off his chances. Wow!

The Big Three won’t report on this—ABC, CBS, NBC—but most viewers don’t watch them anymore. Here’s the truth: an anti-democratic brand is going down the drain.
