The chaos over the weekend has led Republican frontrunner Donald Trump to beef up security at his rallies. Protesters have stormed his events in both Chicago and North Carolina — news that has overshadowed other campaign events in 2016. For example, did you know that Ted Cruz won the Wyoming primary and Marco Rubio won the Washington primary this Saturday? The business tycoon didn’t win any delegates in the latter election — but you wouldn’t guess that from today’s Trump-heavy headlines.
Republican primaries
Donald Trump: Several of Trump’s rallies this weekend have been marred by violence. In Chicago, hundreds of protesters disrupted his event at the University of Illinois at Chicago, forcing his campaign to cancel a planned rally. His presidential rivals condemned the violence, as well as Trump’s response. On Sunday, the businessman he suggested that he could cover the legal costs of a supporter who punched a protester. Rubio said that kind of rhetoric was “unforgivable.” Democratic candidates seemed even more outraged by his behavior. Hillary Clinton accused Trump of “peddling in hate and fear,” and Bernie Sanders called him “pathological liar”for suggesting that his campaign sparked the protests.
The businessman is also struggling with the heat in fresh ad from Our Principles PAC, which confronts Trump on his alleged history of disrespecting women. To the chagrin of all these rivals and opponents, Trump is in Florida at two digitaccording to a fresh poll. Ted Cruz:As mentioned above, Cruz won the Wyoming primary on Saturday and is currently enjoying growth in key swing states. Before a campaign event in Ohio on Sunday, he told the press that Rubio and Kasich had no path to the nomination and again described himself as the only alternative to Trump.
Marco Rubio:Rubio he won He entered the primary in the nation’s capital on Saturday and won the delegate count he needed, but he appears to be trailing in his home state of Florida — a win that the struggling candidate needs to win. New York Times he has already declared “The end of Marco-mentum.” But Rubio’s team isn’t letting up. They’ve just released a new ad titled “Florida,” which discussed some of Trump’s controversial comments.
Jan Kasich:Kasich will be He joined by former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in Ohio on Monday as he vies to win his home state. Romney did not endorse anyone but made clear what he thought of Donald Trump. Polls in Ohio show Kasich he could actually to win.

Bernie Sanders AND Hillary Clinton attended CNN’s Democratic Town Hall on Sunday night. Clinton found herself in some controversy when she touted her plan to effectively sink the coal industry and her failure to answer a woman’s question about the rising cost of health care due to Obamacare. “Saturday Night Live” had some fun with Clinton this weekend, suggesting she needs to morph into Bernie Sanders if she’s to have any hope of winning the millennial vote.
