Fauci was brutally tongue-lashed by a Republican Party official when he couldn’t answer a simple question

Dr. Anthony Fauci got a beating this week. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) issued the first one in March, but it was Rep. Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) turn. On April 15, Fauci appeared before the House Select Committee on the Coronavirus and was asked a simple question. The question on the minds of millions of Americans: When will we regain our freedoms? What are the metrics? He didn’t give any, really. That’s when infection levels drop to protected levels. OK, what is that, doc?

Jordan correctly noted that First Amendment rights and a host of others have been restricted for over a year. The feisty Republican from Ohio correctly noted that the Constitution doesn’t get suspended just because there’s a pandemic. Fauci said he doesn’t see it as an issue of freedom or liberty, but as a matter of public health. He also said the goal is to vaccinate as many people as possible and that the infection rate is still too high to relax the situation for now. he also rejected the false narrative that we are at risk of another surge. They were not. Even Nate Silver has pointed out that talk of height is moot at best. Second, Fauci even said fourth the wave probably won’t happen because vaccination rates are moving forward quite a bit.

The best part is that Fauci said his advice is based on CDC guidelines. In other words, it follows the science, right? People who tell us to get vaccinated but stay home because we’re not… actually vaccinated. Shoot, but you can’t eat at home. Take your shot, but stay in the bunker. Get vaccinated but you still can’t travel. What is the point of vaccination? These experts are masters at torpedoing their own narrative. Fortunately, tens of millions of Americans have ignored the experts and are lining up for a vaccine that is protected and effective. However, Fauci also points to his vaccine-only approach to herd immunity. He forgets that dozens of Americans have acquired natural immunity, and given the number of vaccinations – we are probably close to herd immunity now. You also have to add tens of millions of children who, in total, do not get infected or spread the virus. Dr. Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins has written numerous articles on herd immunity, Covid-19, and how CDC guidelines, especially around vaccines, seem to be frozen by fear. He was the one who calculated it based on current numbers – two-thirds of the country had probably already had the infection.

Fauci and his advice have become so bad that Bill Maher in comments ridicules the expert community and their media allies for spreading absolute nonsense about the virus, noting that Democrats are also woefully misinformed about the pandemic.

The “scared straight” approach hasn’t worked and never will work here.

Fauci has created some pretty solid science fiction about Covid-19 and vaccines. It’s time to ask him these questions but ignore his advice. He overestimates this credibility balance.
