Ohioans will vote on a radical pro-abortion amendment in November

In November, Ohioans will vote on whether to amend the state constitution to include sweeping protections for abortion access and to undermine parents’ rights.

According to New York Timessupporters of the proposed amendment submitted over 495,000 valid voter signatures to place the proposed amendment on the ballot. But a question on the August ballot could raise the voter threshold required to amend the state constitution to 60 percent instead of a elementary majority.

“Every person deserves respect, dignity and the right to make decisions about their reproductive health, including those related to their own pregnancy, miscarriage care and abortion, free from government interference,” Lauren Baluvelt and Lauren Beene of Ohioans for Reproductive Rights said in the report statement.

“Now that the petition drive is complete, we look forward to continuing the campaign to enshrine these rights in the Ohio Constitution and ensure that Ohioans are never again subject to draconian reproductive health policies imposed by extremists.” followers added.

Pro-life organizations such as Protect Women Ohio have detailed how the amendment could allow almost unlimited abortion in the state. Additionally, the amendment may allow minors to undergo abortion or irreversible transgender care without parental notice or consent. This week, Townhall described how a recent poll shows a majority of likely Ohio voters will support the amendment.

“Knowing the grave dangers of this amendment, and knowing that these out-of-state special interest groups still have millions to spend to pass it, it is even more important that every pro-life Ohioan vote for it this August.” “yes” on Issue 1 to ensure that our Constitution, our unborn children and our families are protected,” Peter Range, CEO of Right to Life Ohio, said in a speech statement.

“This extremely anti-life, anti-parent ACLU amendment provides no protection for unborn children during all nine months of pregnancy and attacks the right of parents to even know whether their child is seeking an abortion or gender surgery,” he continued.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, who is running for U.S. Senate as a Republican, urged voters to vote “yes” on Issue 1 on the August ballot.

“We would not allow our United States Constitution to be amended by a simple majority,” he wrote. “Don’t let the radical leave California and our Ohio. Vote YES in issue 1!”
