Trump Crowds (and Why They’re Holding Back)

One hundred days until the Iowa election, and the polls seem insurmountable for Gov. Ron DeSantis against Donald Trump. According to one published result after another z polling and political companies, the former president is still cheerful a double-digit advantage since the beginning of the year.

Many current Trumpers still point to these results and dismiss all other challengers. One asset waist from Ohio visiting California he told me, “I support Trump because voters do.” There is a problem with this justification: polls are not votes. If the polls were correct, Republicans would have a majority of almost 300 seats in the House of Representatives and would control the US Senate. And Fake Kari Lake would become the Governor of Arizona (of course she still claims to be, so there’s that). Voting doesn’t matter. Voices yes. Hillary Clinton was inevitable in 2008 and 2016, and we know how it ended. Trump didn’t shut her down, but at least he could learn from her example. Inevitability is not a guarantee. Nevertheless, the polls are exhilarating Some current Trumpers.

What else is there keeping them from getting on the DeSantis train? Why do they stick with Trump so relentlessly?

Sure, there If the so-called “MAGAdonian” cultists. They don’t care they vote for Trump and they don’t care if you care or not. They hold on tight because they consider the very effort to change their mind to be a betrayal. Choosing anyone else is just plain “wrong.” There are also MAGA merchants, scammers who cash about Trump’s resurgence and enthusiasm. These two groups I’m not interested. I have Other friends and political allies who still stick with Trump, but they gave me understandable reasons. AND Still I don’t agree with them, but I do respect where they come from.

Some of my contacts have been following Trump for decades and simply enjoy his raw bravado and unbridled personality. I wouldn’t call their continued devotion to him “cult-like” because they’re not afraid to criticize him when he’s wrong. Hey, if that’s how their boat floats, there’s not much I can say to make them make it to shore.

Some of my friends are angel parents (families whose loved ones were killed by illegal immigrants), and Trump personally interacted with them during his first campaign and four years in office. I can’t to argue with someone who became friends with the former president, and I won’t even try. I respect their decision, but I still think they are making a mistake.

Others duly acknowledge that “Trump won,” and the only restorative response is his re-election. AND I agree that Trump won. Anti-Trump conservative commentators who want DeSantis to reach a wider audience end baseline it won’t convince the reluctant ones “Trump lost. Go further.” “The election was stolen in plain sight.” to start with as currently Idaho Attorney General Raul Labrador he declared when he ran for office in 2022. You also can’t ignore the massive voter collection and popular vote that has flooded the states and obscured the results, plus emerging cases confirming stuffing voter rolls with dead people and illegal aliens and frayed supply chain issues. Besides, voting disparities in PennsylvaniaAND blocked poll watchers in Michigan AND concerns about poll workers IN Fulton County (despite contrary reports) ask vital questions about the 2020 election.

Yes, Trump won even his passivity in the fight against fraud allowed them to steal the election. In 2024, we we don’t have time for change, and we need someone who is not only committed to fighting voter fraud, but has crushed it in his home state and is ready to outsmart Democrats in 2024.

Other the conservative commentator said he didn’t think any other candidate could oppose it everything-but-sure attack corruption and abuses by the press, bureaucrats and agitators. Trump has demonstrated considerable staying power amid media, legal and corporate abuse. He is not afraid to fight for his own interests and the good name of his family. But if re-elected, will he direct his energy towards helping his country and others?

At the end, I spoke with an established conservative in Southern California, and he, like many, sees Trump as a middle finger to the political establishment. With subsequent legal challenges, continued politicized indictments and civil lawsuits, Trump is the figurehead of a Persecuted America. Understandably, people know this law from the politicized Department of Justice.

Trump represents something to this group: an outsider who attacked the establishment, and you can’t really displace or dissuade anyone from that myths. This is true regardless of criticism of his rhetoric or actions (and failures) during his presidency. Trump is creating the Deep State crazy, and if he wins the primary and general elections, his triumph carries with it the symbolic power of “beating the system.”

Nevertheless, we have seen this saga play out before. Already in 2016, he was a stiff middle finger to gigantic media, gigantic science and gigantic government. Once elected, he failed to keep key promises while in office. We don’t need powerful symbols now. We need conscious, confident and conscientious commanders who will get the job done on day one and who will have the self-discipline, not just the stamina, needed to see the job through to the end.

The fight for the presidency should not be reduced to the WWF rematch between Hulk Hogan and Undertaker. This political fighting is real life, and the results of this election matter much more than the sultry feelings everyone feels power see Trump defeat “The System” for a second time. Politics is more than winning elections and defeating your opponent. It is about implementing a clear vision that will ensure that the obscure forces of the regressive Left, the Deep State and the corrupt Uniparty will no longer harm our country.

After four years of Trump not keeping his promises, I remains DeSantis’ object of desire.
