Sources say Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost expected to resign and take a job in the private sector

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is expected to step down as attorney general and take a job in the private sector, multiple state government sources told WEWS/Ohio Capital Journal reporter Morgan Trau on Thursday.

The portal was the first to report the “unexpected move”. Columbus’s shipment.

A spokesman for Yost did not confirm or deny the reports when contacted by News 5, but six sources in the states who wished to remain anonymous said Yost will likely leave his job before the November election.

Trau attends an event in London, Ohio where Yost is present, and tries to learn more.

Yost has served as Attorney General since 2019. He previously served as state auditor. He suspended run for governor in 2025 after the state Republican Party endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy. Besides Gov. Mike DeWine, he is the only statewide Republican not currently running for office.
