Despite the fact that Ohio has only one candidate for a website that has received wide support, many decisions should still be made before the governorate breed in 2026.
Republicans from Ohio are still approaching their candidate for the governor.
“Now is the turn of Ohio to lead the way,” said Ramaswan during the event in which he hosted the US Senator Jon in Columbus on Monday evening.
Over a year before the 2026 election and a month before the basic one, Ramaswama continues to settle the path when he tries to replace Governor Mike Dewine.
Lieutenant Jim Tressel, who had previously expressed interest in running for the governor, bowed on Friday.
“I think that our key possibilities in the field of education and workforce deserve my full attention to the rest of our term,” Tressel wrote in social media.
This leaves Ramaswama as the only candidate in a republican basic race with broad support. Now he has presented his priorities, including making ohio more attractive to people, eliminating income tax and promoting economic and educational development.
“This is the most important goal for me to make sure that our young people actually remain in this state, instead of moving to the possibilities elsewhere,” said Ramaswama.
On the democratic side, the Health Director of Covid, Dr. Amy Acton, remains the most outstanding party candidate in the race.
“I will always focus on Ohioan and whatever you need to move them forward and solve problems that affect their daily life,” she said in an interview with WSS last month.
But former Congresmen Tim Ryan fled the governor, and his team said he would decide until the end of September.
“I’m not one of the hypothetical,” said Acton, when asked about Ryan. “We are very, very excited about how we were received, they certainly establish registers for every democratic candidate.”
While Democrats set their candidate, the next step for Ramaswam is to choose their deputy. On Monday, he left the event, not dealing with questions from reporters, but earlier he told us that he would cooperate with the legislator over all his political ideas.
“This is a kind of leadership that we must build on the foundation, which we have already established in this state to make us not only the best in the Middle West, but the best in the whole country,” said the President of the Senate Rob McColley (R-Napoleon) after the event.
Strategists still suggest that McColley can be a friend of Ramaswamy because he can move around the legislators.
McColley said that the decision was consistent with Ramaswama when it was asked if the President of the Senate would be the best matched, taking into account his role in leadership.
“My enthusiasm is behind him no matter what as a candidate, because he has the opportunity to have this bold, transformational leadership that will lead to this state to a higher level,” said McColley.
The only other names consistently mentioned by the strategists are Treasurer Ohio Robert Sportue, Secretary of State Frank Larose, senator of state Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) and former state representative Jay Edwards. Sorgue is a candidate for the Secretary of State, Larose is running for the auditor, and both Roegner and Edwards apply for a treasurer.
Of the five McColley was the only one who participated in the event on Monday. Others were asked what their priorities would be as a lieutenant governor and whether they communicate with the Ramaswamy team.
The SPRAGUE team refused to answer the questions, but said he had a planning conflict. Neither Larose nor Edwards answered.
“I am honored that my name was mentioned,” said Roegner. “I have great confidence in the leadership of VIVEK and I am waiting for his governor. Although speculation can be continued, my full commitment is to win the treasurer of the State Office.”
Although he did not announce that he had applied for a different position due to a timely limitation in the Senate, McColley may potentially apply for Congress, because the strategists from DC stated that he was able to apply for a district 9 against a long -time democratic representative of the USA Marcy Hood.
McColley was asked by WSS on Monday about the potential to face Marcy Hood.
“You love to ask speculative questions based on rumors and insinuations and everything in this kind,” he said with a smile. “I suppose that your task is to do it, but I don’t really have any comment on this topic. At this point I said to people:” Look, I have to come up with what I want to do when I grow up. “
The president continued that he assessed all options.
“I don’t know what it will be,” said McColley. “I can just come back and become a lawyer in the north -western Ohio. We’ll see what it looks like, but he was happy to serve Ohio as president in the Senate, and see what the future will bring.”
Government teams must be announced by February.
Other candidates who started the governor campaign are the Republican Filip Foundburg, Democrat Jacob Chiara and the independent Tim Grady. Heather Hill had previously announced that she would be a candidate as a republican, but later stated that she would act as a libertarian, independent or member of Elon Musk’s America Party – a party that is not yet recognized in Ohio.
