Immigrants living in Springfield, Ohio feel concerns about the deportation when President-Elek Donald Trump occupies the office, according to CBS messages.
Ketlie Moise, a Haitanian living in Springfield through momentary protected status, said that he personally knew 10 friends and neighbors who left Springfield, as well as employees of her restaurant and her own daughter. There are fears that the TPS program would end.
Apparently, about 12,000 to 15,000 Haitians live in Springfield.
“I’m afraid because my case in Haiti was bombed, I lost my mother,” said Moise said CBS News. “Someone will come to business, shot my mother with a weapon, they bomb my business … If I get a deportation to return to Haiti, I will die especially for me, I will be dead.”
“We hope that everything will work as you should practice,” she said. “God has a way to work out everything.”
Earlier, Townhall talked about how Springfield in the state of Ohio dealt with all kinds of problems as a result of the influx of Haitan immigrants. This included reports that ducks, cats and other animals were supposedly gripped and consumed.
As a result, Governor Ohio Mike Dewine announced that he would send law enforcement agencies and health resources to the city of Springfield to aid deal with the crisis.
“I want the inhabitants of Springfield and Clark to know that as we progress, we will do everything in our power to help the community deal with this growth of migrants,” said Dewin in a statement.
“The federal government has not shown that it has any problem solving a problem. We will not leave – he added.
In an interview, Dewine rejected the claims that illegal Haitian immigrants had animals of people in Springfield.
“Well … this is something that appeared on the internet and the internet can sometimes be quite crazy,” said Dewine.
“They [the Springfield mayor and officials] They have no evidence for this – he continued.
“I think we are going with what the mayor says, he knows his city,” added Dewine.
Governor Ohio Mike Dewine, a Republican, says that Springfield officials, Ohio “have no evidence”, that Haitian migrants eat animals there, a claim strengthened by former President Trump during the debate on Tuesday evening, saying: “I think we are going with what the mayor says, he knows his city.”
