· Rick Santorum joined the presidential Scrum Gop last night. There are (if you count Donald Trump) 16 announced, pretended or alleged candidates.
· Santorum escaped in the nomination four years ago, rising from completely known outside Pennsylvania to the second place to the final nominated, Mitt Romney.
· Santorum – together with Mike Huckabe and Chris Christie – has a problem with time.
· In 1980 I worked as a press secretary of Congressmen from Huntington, Indiana against Senator Birch Bayh. Congressmen was Dan Quayle.
One day we were on the road and asked him if he lost (which he did not do) or escaped again. He said no. He said, as a result:
Time in politics is crucial. If you have time to win. It doesn’t mean yes, but you have a chance. If it’s not your time, you have no shot.
· Huckabe’s time was the 2008 cycle. Both Christie and Santorum time in 2012. Marco Rubio time can be 2020 or 2024.
· It still leaves candidates with double -digit values, whose time can be in 2016, so Republicans, unlike Democrats, will probably not lack people.
· Huckabee and Santorum have a similar problem: they must also do it in Iowa next year, as in the years when they were busy candidates. This means that they have to win, otherwise they will not do it either.
· Of course, both cannot win Iowa, so at least one of them must go on a brave face that candidates do when they pretend to be part of their great plan.
In a sense, the president of FIFA SEPP Blatter, who pretended to watch, like most of his older employees, is a frog that comes out of their five -star hotel, and arrested for all kinds of bribery and other financial skull, was actually a good thing.
· The first level of GOP candidates has not changed. This is still (in alphabetical order) Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Scott Walker.
· Rubio had a acute growth, but my long experience in this matter is that no one wins wire for wire, so we’ll see that he can support him.
· Paul begins to look like a kid who wants to create a university basketball team, and therefore still fights with other players to be noticed by coaches.
· Walker seems to devote some time to managing the state of Wisconsin, although AP announced yesterday that his governor’s Electoral Committee sent a message e -mail/survey asking for “their opinions on various national issues and foreign policy.”
· Bush also seems to be choking not only so that not only a uncomplicated question about the war in Iraq would throw him through Megyn Kelly, but then he needs three days to fix it. I expect that he is in learning the precedent of its coming foreign journey.
· One of the things you should remember when we enter June out of year is that it’s like spring training in the main leagues.
· Those of us who make all or part of our lives, observing the policy, notice every rhetorical stumble of the chasing ball, each mistake includes rebellion, every mistake of running the base.
· In MLB, the only people who care about a child with AA, playing second in a game divided in mid -spring training, are our counterparts in the baseball world.
· The remaining 67-liter million fans begin to tune when the games actually count. About 19 million participated in GOP Primary four years ago and will start to tune when the voting actually begins.
· Like spring training, sometimes a “walk” does well enough to make a team from the opening of a 25-person. Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina hope.
· Dr. Carson did not allow me to scrub the surgery he was to perform; And Mrs. Fiorina would not consider someone with zero business experience to replace her with the boss of HP. However, they believe that the President of the United States may be successful.
· We are on the seventh year someone who gives a good speech but did not have training at work. How does it work?
· The GOP field will probably be set by July 4. June will probably see a conversion from “exploration” to “announced” for all candidates, which we currently consider to be. Senator Lindsay Graham and the mentioned Donald Trump.
Time, as they say, will say. It’s time.
