During a tragically ironic press conference Monday afternoon on Capitol Hill, the Congressional Black Caucus praised the work of Planned Parenthood. Joined by former Planned Parenthood patients, Reps. Gwen Moore (D-WI), Alma Adams (D-NC), and Donna Edwards (D-MD) defended the organization as imperative to women’s health. During their conversation, they are not concerned with the fact that Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was a racist, nor the Center for Medical Advancement investigation This shocked Americans with disturbing video of workers joking about selling fetal body parts.
No, these fears had no consequences. Rep. Adams seemed quite positive that the GOP’s attempt to reject Planned Parenthood is based on a misogynistic agenda.
“Attacking Planned Parenthood is an attempt to turn back the clock on the early 20th century. I’ve seen them do it in NC.” @Repadams #standwithpp

For current Planned Parenthood patients, they shared stories about how the organization provided crucial breast cancer screening and prenatal care. Again, the fact that the organization performs over 300,000 abortions a year and abortion is the source 37 percent His income wasn’t even a footnote.
Certainly the same services women were looking for thousands health centers across the country that do not perform abortions. Pro-Life Republicans are leading the charge to defund Planned Parenthood and will regenerate those tax dollars into these alternative, more humane resources available to women.
You wouldn’t know that if you attended today’s Presser. All these congressmen want to do, said Rep. Adams, it’s “making decisions” for women.
.@Repadams She says she’s here as an “angry black woman who is tired of politicians trying to make decisions” for women. #Standwithpp

Fortunately, it seemed like the event was sparsely attended.
African-American lawmakers’ cheerleading for Planned Parenthood is especially tragic considering that the abortion giant is responsible 35 percent abortion among black women.
At least one African-American democrat, Bill Patmon, wasn’t afraid to say it like it was at a pro-life rally in Ohio this summer.
On Tuesday morning, the House Oversight Committee will hear directly from Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards as she tries to do the near impossible: convince Congress why she still deserves taxpayer dollars.
