One anti-Trump Republican calls it quits… Because that’s what these people do

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) cried at the beginning of the January 6 committee meeting. The select committee is ostensibly investigating what caused the riots that day, but we all know it’s intended to get back to Trump. It’s also another way for Democrats to smear their supporters and keep the former president in the news amid a disastrous Biden presidency that is simply unable to deal with multiple crises. This won’t work because normal people have gone about their lives and are more focused on the Biden inflation crisis that is killing families at the grocery store. I dig it up, sorry.

Kinzinger serves on this committee with the equally irritating Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) because he is very principled. He chooses country over party. And he is so involved in it that he gives up. He will not run for re-election, even though Illinois redistricting didn’t completely unnerve himperhaps as a “thank you” from Democrats for supporting Trump’s impeachment. However, he would have to face another Republican, Darin La Hood (via Policy):

Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, one of former President Donald Trump’s most prominent critics on the House Republican Conference, announced Friday that he will not seek re-election next year.

Kinzinger, one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach the then-president in January after the Capitol riot, is the second member of that group to announce he is leaving Congress and joining Republican Sen. Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio.

Early Friday morning, the Illinois Legislature passed a congressional map that put Kinzinger in the same district as another incumbent GOP president, Republican Darin LaHood, setting up a potential primary matchup between Kinzinger and LaHood, a more reliable Trump ally in the House.

Kinzinger would rather leave than launch a major campaign against a Trump ally. What does that say about the backbone of this part of the event? Seriously. Therefore, their number is diminutive. They are tender. Democrats also have their share of tender former lawmakers. This affects both sides equally, but it looks like the Cheney donut who was attacking Trump has resigned, making her the sole survivor… for now.

The good news is that a more credible Republican will fill this seat. Goodbye, Adam.
