Should anyone believe the Biden administration’s absurd story about the mysterious balloons that took over the nation a few weeks ago? According to the administration, a huge Chinese spy balloon was allowed to fly from China across the Pacific to Alaska through Canada and back to the United States. At that point, the balloon flew over the interior of the country before being shot down off the coast of South Carolina.
The Biden administration argued that the delayed action allowed it to gather intelligence on the balloon and protect Americans who could be harmed if shot down over a populated area. Of course, the balloon could easily be shot down as it flew over uninhabited areas, such as Alaska or Montana.
Claiming that the administration waited to protect against civilian casualties and property damage, President Joe Biden also said the incursion “did not constitute a serious breach.” Really, what about the antennas attached to the balloon to gather intelligence?
It was no coincidence that the balloon flew “over or near four military installations in Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska and Missouri.” However, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin assured the Americans that “we were on lockdown, and movement and communications were restricted so that we would not unnecessarily disclose any capabilities.”
Despite such guarantees, it is unlikely that the Chinese would not gain huge intelligence thanks to the balloon, which traveled around the United States and Canada for a week.
After this humiliating episode, Secretary of State Tony Blinken canceled a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, but the administration made clear that there would be no changes in our relationship with China. When asked whether the balloon raid would weaken our relationship with China, Biden flatly answered “no.”
In this way, the Chinese collect huge amounts of key intelligence information from our country and fly a huge balloon over sensitive military facilities, and the Biden administration can only muster minor criticism and the cancellation of one meeting. It was a shameful response, to say the least, and may indicate that President Biden is extremely compromised on China.
Apparently after our radars were there “recalibrated”, three other balloons were launched from the sky in Alaska, Canada and Michigan. None of the remaining balloons were recovered because they were probably too compact to locate. These balloons were either conducting weather research or were launched by a group of hobbyists, e.g Northern Illinois Balloon Brigade.
The balloon’s hypersensitivity caused the Biden administration to utilize high-priced military planes with costly missiles worth approximately $439,000 each to shoot down balloons worth just $12. All this does not lead to trust in this President and his administration.
What really happened? Balloon hysteria may have been created to distract Americans from launching the bomb investigation by journalist Seymour Hersh. The report found that last June, “Navy divers… planted remotely triggered explosives that destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines three months later.”
When the pipelines were destroyed, the leftist media and the Biden administration were quick to blame their favorite enemy, the Russians. However, it never made sense for the Russians to destroy their own pipeline, which gave them both enormous financial benefits and influence over Europe by controlling part of their energy supply.
The theory made sense to exiled NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, who wrote on Twitter that the balloon hysteria was a “designed panic.” He called it a “nuisance” that would preoccupy reporters photographing balloons “not budgets or bombings.”
Snowden’s reference to “budgets” may refer to the Department of Defense. Whenever there is a threat to our country’s national security, Americans begin to fear for the security of our country. What will happen when Americans become afraid? Unfortunately, some politicians utilize this as an excuse to create more government bureaucracy and spend more taxpayer money.
For example, after the September 11 attacks, President George W. Bush supported the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. It was quickly approved by Congress and a recent government giant was created. Today, this department oversees border security and all Americans can assess how the situation is progressing.
After the ballooning hysteria, both Democrats and Republicans in Congress began demanding no cuts to the Department of Defense. During the current fiscal year, the Department of Defense received an extraordinary amount, $816.7 billion. There are undoubtedly areas in the budget that can be cut while still meeting the national security needs of the American people.
Nevertheless, Congress approved an additional one last year $45 billion to what Biden recommended. Now, after the ballooning mania, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) has stated that it would be “extremely unwise” to make any cuts in the defense sector.
As U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) noted, “every emergency is an excuse to get more money.” He strongly recommends that Republicans “abandon the sacred cow” of never cutting defense spending. This is especially true when the country teeters on the brink of economic collapse and our federal debt is $31.6 trillion!
Another captivating coincidence is that the Chinese spy balloon was shot down the day after the horrific train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. By focusing on the balloons, the Biden administration paid almost no attention to the casualties in this red state. It took weeks for the Biden administration to send resources and aid to these suffering victims. In fact, President Donald Trump arrived in the region before the Secretary of Transportation even bothered to visit the crash site.
The balloon caper also distracted the country from sending additional funds to Ukraine. Already, the Biden administration has almost delivered 200 billion dollars aid and the flow of funds seems endless. On Friday, another Ukrainian aid package worth 400 million dollars has been announced.
Often, Americans miss real stories because of the distraction created by the media and our political leadership. This is clearly noticeable in all this ballooning nonsense, which is another reason why Americans cannot trust our media or politicians like Joe Biden.
