President-elect Donald Trump on Monday endorsed House Speaker Mike Johnson to remain in his job as some conservatives expressed frustration with his leadership during key budget fights.
“Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard-working and religious man. He will do the right thing and we will continue to WIN. Mike has my full and total support. MAGA!!!” Trump posted on the Social Truth website.
Johnson struggled to tame a frustrated bloc of budget hawks at the Republican conference, some of whom had already challenged his leadership.
