Looks like the DNC is done with Mark Elias

Left-wing lawyer Marc Elias is known for his ties to the Democratic National Committee (DNC), but now they are reportedly parting ways, as Punchbowl News reported in its Wednesday morning bulletinciting “multiple sources”. There appears to be a problem with the DNC in particular, given that Elias will continue to work with Democrats at the federal and state level, with the DSCC, DAGA and DLCC.

“DNC and Elijah According to sources familiar with internal deliberations, there were a number of strategic misunderstandings,” the bulletin also mentioned, raising eyebrows. Elias received nearly $2 million from the DNC for the 2022 election cycle.

That being said, the statements in the bulletin are positive and make one wonder what exactly happened and perhaps what is not said.

“The DNC works with numerous law firms on voting rights disputes, compliance, contracting and more. DNC recognizes the Elias Law Group’s years of service in service of our values,” DNC spokesman Ammar Moussa told Punchbowl.

A spokesperson for Elias Law Group told Punchbowl that “Elias Law Group is proud of the work it has done for the DNC. We look forward to continuing to represent the Democratic Party and helping citizens vote and progressives make change.”

As the Elias Law Group newsletter and statement highlight, Elias is known for attacking election integrity laws passed by Republican legislatures. On Tuesday night, his tweet boasted about how “the team is litigating 45 pro-democracy cases in 18 states,” also stating that “democracy is in the dock!”

Ohio is on the list, where in January of this year Elias Law Group filed a lawsuit against HB 458, which includes a common-sense provision to tighten voter ID laws, as Townhall argued at the time.

Elias also tweeted that he is already looking at Texas election integrity legislation that just passed in the state Senate.

Elias is also known for serving as Hillary Clinton’s campaign lawyer and was hired by former Governor Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) at the end of his losing 2021 gubernatorial campaign against the current governor. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA).
