You can already hear the liberal media narratives being loaded and ready to fire. You can imagine the guest lists on CNN and MSNBC ready to harshly criticize Trump and the Republican Party for trying to lead an attempted coup on January 6. It’s coming. Republicans in Congress quickly joined the side opposing the Electoral College results of the 2020 election. In the chamber, 140 GOP members plan to support the measure next week. This will be presented as something unprecedented. This will be presented as a manifestation of the rot that has occurred in our institutions because of Trump’s presidency. Yes, the “everything was great until Trump came along” narrative will get a steroid shot on January 6. Part of me really wants to watch the media meltdown; you know it’ll be fun. I also know it will be unbearable.
You can imagine the chyrons on CNN and other anti-Trump networks.

“It’s a threat to democracy.”

But it’s as if the media thinks you can’t look up aged clips on C-SPAN or elsewhere showing dozens of Senate Democrats objecting to the 2004 election results. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are among the most eminent names to have raised concerns about the Electoral College results. And let’s not forget that in 2017, a group of House Democrats tried to object to the election results on the grounds of Russian collusion, but no senators joined them. The thing is, it’s happened before. This will likely happen again in future elections. Was this a threat to democracy in 2005? Was this a threat when it was presented in 2017 – in both cases by Democrats? Here we have a classic case of hypocrisy, media bias, and “two separate rules” for how Democrats and Republicans are treated. Love him or hate him, liberal reporter Michael Tracey had evidence to back up those aged Democratic objections from the 2004 election. He’s probably preparing for the “Trump is a fascist” hysteria that will grip DC and the media in the coming days.
The 2020 voter fraud allegations are more than just the Russian collusion fiasco that needlessly consumed the nation for three years. Faced with such allegations of voter fraud, the president and his supporters obviously have the right to be irate and express their opposition. It may not stop Biden from assuming the presidency, but the mere thought of objecting to the results, especially in states where the entertaining thing happened, is not at all anti-democratic or harmful. Congress should investigate, but there’s not much we can do until the GOP takes over the House in 2022. In the meantime, Trump can and should order a special counsel investigation to get things moving. If Democrats don’t like it, too bad. We didn’t like you dragging the nation into a baseless witch hunt regarding Russia. It’s our turn to cause damage.
