Viral Clip Completely Distorts Bernie Moreno’s Reaction on Abortion and ‘Pro-Life Culture’

This article has been updated with a post highlighting how Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) fell for such deceitful clips when it comes to Bernie Moreno’s stance on abortion.

Earlier this week, businessman Bernie Moreno, Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan participated in the Republican Senate primary seeking to challenge vulnerable incumbent Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio. Aaron Rupar, who frequently posts clips he collects on his X account, shared what he believed was Moreno’s “entire reaction” to abortion.

As Republican strategist Andrew Surabian shared in the quoted post, which includes a much longer clip, what Rupar shared is merely Very a tiny part of Moreno’s answer.

When asked what his position was on abortion, Moreno replied that “first and foremost, I am pro-life, I will do everything in my power to protect unborn children” and that “as a United States senator, I will make sure that policies aimed at reducing the costs having children” and “cheaper raising” children. He also shared a personal tidbit about how “my two daughters now have three kids” and “it’s rely it’s pricey to have children.”

Continuing his response, Moreno also stated that he would “make sure women have access to Good health care”, as well as “ensure women have easy access to adoption services” and “ensure women have the same access to contraception as men”, noting that “things are very different now”.

“So we need to make sure that we implement this policy and that we have a pro-life culture in this country,” Moreno concluded. Sharing another personal story about his family, Moreno shared how his daughter helped the family while traveling and talked about “what we can do, let’s be pro-mom, pro-family politics.”

Moreno then expressed support for a humane abortion limit, which is supported by many other Republican voters and candidates, including former and potentially future President Donald Trump. “And if we can get to the point where we can have a 15-week minimum period where After 15 weeks, we have some common sense restrictions, so we are not a country that allows it elective late-term abortion, I think it’s a big victory,” Moreno said, concluding his lengthy response.

Research it shows that unborn babies may experience pain until about 15 weeks of age. Miscarriages after this stage of pregnancy – i.e. after the first trimester – also occur more and more dangerous for women.

The post includes a clip of a woman lifting a baby stroller who claims, “Bernie Moreno believes that if mothers are helped to lift heavy baby strollers, they do not need the right to make their own decisions about their bodies and families.” Of course, such language presents abortion in the most sophisticated way. “This is ridiculous,” the woman says, rolling her eyes, saying that it “comes from a guy who wants to overrule the people of Ohio and ban abortion nationwide,” though she conveniently omits the fact that Moreno specifically mentioned the 15-week limit.

Rupar’s clip asked “what changes to reproductive rights or abortion would you support as a U.S. senator,” but then included a massive edit that included only Moreno’s response as he discussed his daughter’s travel and a mention of having “pro-mom, pro-family policies.” “

It is unclear why Rupar would omit such crucial details about Moreno’s common-sense, compassionate and thorough response, unless perhaps he wanted to deliberately deceive.

It’s also particularly telling that Rupar would mislead on an issue as important as abortion, especially since Democrats want to go on the attack when it comes to fear-mongering. Moreover, while Rupar claims that Moreno gave a “complete answer” as if it were a bad thing, Moreno agrees not only with other Republicans but also with other Americans. Rupar also has a habit of being reluctant to comment on Republicans who speak out against abortion.

As of Wednesday evening, this deceitful post had over 555,500 views. views, 1600 likes and over 400 posts again. The replies to Rupar’s post were full of people who seemed deceived because they were mocking Moreno’s response, though of course it was only a tiny part of Moreno’s response and lacked much context.

On Wednesday evening, Brown himself posted a mockery of Moreno’s position. “Bernie Moreno thinks women need help with strollers, not access to abortions,” Brown wrote in the post, intending to offer a very dumbed down version of Moreno’s response.

Others, however, apparently shared Moreno’s full response, pointing to Surabian’s quoted post.

There is less than a month left until the Ohio Republican Party primary elections on March 19. An Emerson College poll released Feb. 1 shows Moreno virtually in first place in the primary, receiving 22% of the vote to LaRose’s 21%. Dolan enjoys 15 percent. support. Moreno gained significant support in the polls after winning Trump’s endorsement last December. It appears that all three candidates will be competitive with Brown in this regard Toss-Up seat. for November and one of the best pickup options for Republicans if not the top reception.
