Face masks are now a religion. Glory to the Almighty Mask!

Most religions, including Christianity, by definition must give the Almighty the upper hand when there is any doubt when things are not going the way we, ordinary people, would like them to. After all, he is the creator of the universe. Who are we to question, right? A infirmed loved one for whom we prayed dies. God is good. The elections are not going our way? God is still good. Will a tsunami destroy half the country? Well, you get the picture.

True religions as an attempt to explain humanity’s greatest and oldest questions are one thing. However, turning an unproven scientific hypothesis into a de facto religion in order to tarnish critics as heretics and stifle debate is another thing entirely, and anyone who doubts that face masks have become such a de facto religion should consider how they too ALWAYS get the benefit of the doubt. When the Covid-19 virus surges in an area with ~100% mask compliance already, the solution is: Always, Always, Always to “MASK HARRRDDDDERRRRR!” And when that inevitably doesn’t work, they call for lockdown measures, not daring to question the effectiveness of the holy mask.

We are told that masks cannot have ANY negative impact on health or society, even though we are social media giants censor legal medical professionals Who conduct studies that suggest otherwise. In their zeal to worship the Almighty Face Mask, fanatics even insist that high school athletes cover their faces with what will soon become a soggy washcloth while competing outdoors in the rain, and their almighty power and glory is such that no negative health consequences will ever occur. Masks are the “best tool” we have to “stop the spread of COVID-19” – our rulers constantly tell a population that ALREADY has well over 80% compliance with mask regulations so-called “experts” once promised there would have to be a “decline in cases” in May.

But cases aren’t “going down” now, are they? On the contrary, they are exploding across Europe and the United States, even though Joe Biden once insisted that if only the Trump administration was more like Europe, we would stop this virus or something. Now media “geniuses” are marveling at how European countries that supposedly “did EVERYTHING right (!!)” are nonetheless being hit with Covid-19 cases, and yet none of them admit that they may be “fine” it might just be… WRONG. They are unable to question their previous assumptions and beliefs, in gigantic part because those beliefs have become a religion.

Consider the surprise contained in this article on the Daily Beast on the recent surge in Italy: “What is particularly concerning about the return of the Covid-19 virus to Italy is that the country has done everything that experts like Dr. Anthony Fauci have recommended,” writes Barbie Latza Nadeau. “Face masks in public places have been mandatory for months, social distancing is strongly enforced, nightclubs have never reopened and sports arenas are less than one-third full. Children who are returning to school are being tested regularly and are being rigorously socially distanced, and yet the second wave seems completely unstoppable.”

The Daily Beast is shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, that the human remedies touted for months have turned out to be almost entirely in vain. Despite the introduction of an order to wear masks outdoors worth 1,000 euros, the virus stubbornly insists on going viral. As of Friday, Italy had 37,237 cases (equivalent to 204,803 in the U.S.) and 699 deaths. If this happened in the US, it would mean 3,844 deaths in just one day, a number that has not been reached even in the spring. It’s almost as if it doesn’t really matter what people do, except for draconian, destructive lockdowns that are harming millions and delaying the inevitable.

Nevada’s Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak, like most of these power-hungry would-be dictators, has been in the “it’s all your fault” camp for months. Chastising Nevadans for the surge in Covid-19 cases like an irate parent threatening consequences for bad behavior, Sisolak, perhaps with a pointed wagging finger, scolded him: “I’m not going to come back in two weeks and say I’ll give you another chance.” But when word spread that his tone was a little more humble managed to catch Ron himself: “You can take all the precautions you can and still get the virus. I don’t know how I achieved it.”

Go, think. Viruses continue to spread and humans twist themselves and their societies into pretzels, with little or no effect. Cheeky, comical Last week’s CNN headline sums up the absolute madness of it all. “Their states have been plunged into crisis because they have defied masks and Covid-19 regulations,” CNN wrote, referring to Republican governors like South Dakota’s Kristi Noem who have “largely taken a hands-off approach” to the virus. “It didn’t turn out well,” they write smugly, conveniently ignoring the fact that the virus is spreading significantly in countless places that, like Italy, are supposedly “doing everything right.”

This is obviously a journalistic error. Of course, the virus was going to spread in the Dakotas, especially since there hadn’t been much growth there before. Because of this, things may even be a little worse per capita for a while, but as Noem correctly pointed out, hospitals are not overloaded and are doing well. Meanwhile, Michigan surpassed the 10,000 case mark for the first time on Friday, with cases exploding in states like Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and Pennsylvania that have doubled down on mandatory masking to control the spread.

Except it doesn’t control the spread at all, and the spikes in countries that don’t implement forced masking, like Sweden and Norway, are no worse, and often better, than in their masked counterparts.

Meanwhile, CNN continues to pee on our feet and tell us it’s raining quoting “tests” before the November surge this basically picks out a few rural areas in Kansas where 10 cases would mean a “50 percent increase!!!!” claim that “the mask mandate is intended to slow the spread of Covid-19.” All the while conveniently ignoring all the cloaked areas where the boxes explode.

As Tucker Carlson eloquently put it on his show last week: “If masks and restrictions stopped the surge in coronavirus infections, we wouldn’t be seeing spikes in coronavirus infections.” Indeed, if masks work, why don’t they WORK?

This would all be a ridiculous joke if they didn’t manage to make it a de facto religion.
